The NFL has clearly been into metal lately. First was Anthrax vocalist Joey Belladonna singing the National Anthem, and now we’ve got Alice In Chains riff master Jerry Cantrell shredding the anthem. Cantrell played the anthem at the Seattle Seahawks vs. Cleveland Browns on October 29 at Lumen Field in Seattle, WA, and you can check out some pro-shot footage below. It’s great, obviously.
“What a great weekend, got to play the national anthem before the Seahawks game,” said Cantrell. “Hawks brought home the W at the end of a slugfest with the Browns. Very proud to have been a part of the festivities. Thank you Seattle!”
