Versatile and Reliable: Draganfly Launches New North American-Made Drones And Sensor Technology

Must read

Drone use is rapidly increasing across a variety of major markets. From mapping to deliveries, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are constantly finding new ways to showcase their versatility and reliability.

According to a recent report by Verified Market Research, the global drone services market size is projected to reach $60.67 billion by 2028 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 24%. Demand is surging as more businesses recognize the potential of UAV technology across different industry verticals.

As drones continue to grow in popularity, one company founded in 1998 has the experience, intellectual property (IP), and infrastructure required to meet the needs of industry leaders.

For more than two decades, Draganfly has developed cutting-edge drone solutions, software, and artificial intelligence (AI) systems that continue to revolutionize the way established brands do business and service their stakeholders. The company recently announced that it has added three new North American-made products to its lineup.

Draganfly’s Heavy Lift Drone is creating exciting opportunities for the shipping service industry. Capable of automated missions and manual flight operations, the heavy-duty, robust UAV can effectively carry 67 pounds and has up to 55 minutes of flight time. In other words, the Heavy Lift Drone is a cost-effective solution that is designed to carry more and fly longer.

While Draganfly’s Heavy Lift Drone is focused on enhancing deliveries, the company’s Commander 3 XL Drone is designed for rapid deployment in challenging weather conditions including light rain and snow.

Considered the “Swiss Army Knife” of drones by Draganfly, the high-endurance, weather-resistant, multirotor UAV is capable of drop and winch-down systems that can effectively transport up to 26 pounds.

“As drone use continues to rise, industry leaders are looking for sophisticated solutions that are versatile, reliable, and secure. Our Heavy Lift and Commander 3 XL Drones will help a variety of major markets improve their business outputs and profitability,” Cameron Chell, President and CEO of Draganfly, said in a release.

Both the Heavy Lift and Commander 3 XL Drones are compatible with a variety of interchangeable payloads, including optical and thermal imaging solutions, specialized delivery containers, and the company’s new Long Range Light Ranging and Detection (LiDAR) system.

With a scanning range of 750 meters, Draganfly’s Long Range LiDAR system is able to provide accurate distance measurements and improved resolution over conventional photogrammetry methods. Photogrammetry is the process of extracting crucial information from photographs. By overlapping photographic images of an object, structure, or space, they can be converted into comprehensive 2D or 3D digital models.

In addition to UAVs, the company’s advanced sensor technology can be mounted on helicopters, airplanes, vehicles, and even backpacks to provide precise mapping data across a variety of industries including:

  • Forestry
  • Real Estate
  • Public Safety
  • Energy and Mining
  • Telecommunications

The global LiDAR drone market is projected to reach $455 million in 2028 with a CAGR of nearly 18% according to a recent report by Fortune Business Insights. The advancement of dynamic sensor technologies continues to broaden the product range and is making UAV-based LiDAR more appealing across a variety of major markets.

“For years, Draganfly has developed versatile, cutting-edge sensor technology that ensures precision and accuracy. Whether it is utilized by air or on the ground, our Long Range LiDAR system is able to safely and effectively provide industry leaders with the data mapping they require,” Cameron Chell, President and CEO of Draganfly, said in a release
